All the Little Things
Too many people think it takes a grand gesture or some herculean effort to achieve success and greatness. This is the biggest reason a lot of those same people don't even try. Unfortunately they couldn't be more wrong.
The real key to achieving success is doing little actions consistently and persistently. These little actions are both easy to do and easy to not do. Whether or not you follow through and consistently and persistently do the small, mundane, positive actions towards your success is up to you. The question I want to ask you is this: do you want to be successful?
Making the right decision
There are a couple things you'll need to know if you answered yes to my question. It's going to take work — not hard work, just work. You're going to need to start making and taking small, positive steps towards your goals.
For example, if your goal is to be healthier when you eat out you might want to order a salad with balsamic vinaigrette instead of fries. It's a easy choice to make or not make. It may not seem like much but over time you'll really see what a difference it can — and will — make.
Easy doesn't mean instant
One thing you need to know is the changes won't be noticeable right away. You won't notice the effects the first day. You won't notice them the first week. You might not even notice them after the first month. But, being consistent and persistent allows the effects to compound over time.
Before you realize it all these positive efforts will snowball and create a huge upswing. Everything will seem to fall into place. Positive changes will be happening all around you — and to you. You'll reach your goal and be successful!

What really turned me onto this realization is a book by Jeff Olson called The Slight Edge. This book is an easy read and the advice in its pages is extremely practical. I highly recommend reading this book.
