What does a Paleo eater eat?
Generally when people find out I'm following a Paleo food plan the first question is "What is that?" After a short explanation the follow up question is almost always "what can you eat?" Short answer: A lot.
At the start I would head to the corner store, grab a handful of Marin Sun Farms grass-fed steaks and burger patties, and at mealtime I'd grill them up and shovel down a load of carrots or other raw veggies.
That was before I found awesome cooking resources like:
- Bill & Hayley @ The Primal Palate
- Nom Nom Paleo
- Diane Sanfilippo @ Balanced Bites
- Make It Paleo
- Julie & Charles @ Paleo Comfort Foods
These sites (and the amazing people behind them) have been the cure to my boring "having another burger tonight" routine. Most of the recipes they create are easy to make, don't take long to cook, and taste fantastic!
Check out a couple of the awesome recipes I've made so far:
- Egg Muffins
- Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Guacamole
- Cauliflower Mash
- Paleo Mayo (I like a little less lemon and some garlic)
- Meatza An absolute fav! (I know it's not from the sites listed above but it's too good to exclude)
Couple these fine recipes with new ways to make burgers, cook steaks, and the best way to cook bacon ever (it takes about 2 hours and it's totally worth it!) found in The Primal Blueprint Cookbook (affiliate link), my meal choices have definitely become less routine and way more enjoyable.
Even if you're not a paleo or primal eater you really should try at least one of these recipes. Better yet, go to the websites I listed above and search for a dish you like, I bet there's a paleo version or alternative that tastes just as good (if not better).
