Working with a Trainer
Fitness and health is a crazy, sometimes fucked up world. There is so much information out there it's hard to tell what's right, what's wrong, and more importantly what's going to work for you. If you're smart and dedicated you can sort through the crap and get to the good stuff. Find the good stuff and you can make a go of it on your own. Other people can't and need help.
For the past couple years I've been going it on my own. A few stints of P90X and Insanity — which come with food guides — aside, I've been doing my best at going it on my own. It's been hard and frankly, I don't want to deal with it any more.
Good people get paid to do what they do. Great people make a good living with what they get paid to do. After some searching I found a fitness consultant I really wanted to work with. Her name is Sohee Lee.
A week in and working with Sohee is great. She'll be showing me what to eat, how much to eat, and laying out workout programs to help me meet my goals.
What I'm looking forward to the most from this whole experience is:
- getting myself in great shape (ripped abs, what?)
- seeing what goes into a good weightlifting program
- learning more about proper nutrition, from one of the good sources, and
- accountability like whoa
Here's to the next 12 weeks. When we get there I'll be the guy with his shirt off flexing in the corner.
